Water issues

Drought is a large issue that faces Texas. Over the years however we have been able to develop ways of conservation in order to withstand our water recourses during these long period of drought. Much of our water comes from ground water. After research by a group of North Texas students took place at our own Lake Lewisville Tom LaPoint, professor of biological sciences and director of the IAS, "gets right to the point. Within 15 to 20 years, he predicts, water use in the region will have caught up with water supply." They are now studying projects such as "The Stream Test", which helps them to examine the effects of chemicals most often found in the freshwater lakes.
